The Power of Kindness! How Community Helped Homeless Mom of 3 Battling Breast Cancer

Okay just a warning, but this might make you tear up. We here at The Pink Event^® are in love with the Detroit community that responded after Fox 2 News ran a tragic story about Simone Hearn--who at the time was homeless, had three children, and was dealing with stage 3 breast cancer. Two weeks after Hearn's story aired, Fox 2 News received so much support that they were able to find Hearn and her children an affordable place to live. 


Then, Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries and Working Homes Working Families fixed up a home in Detroit's west side for the family to live. While she pays utilities and taxes, Hearn will not have to worry about rent. A GoFundMe account has raised more than $21,000 for Hearn.  

What a powerful story about raising each other up! We wish Hearn, and all other brave breast cancer patients, strength and perseverance as they go through chemo and other medical therapies.
