Breast Cancer Awareness Month is wrapping up but we would be remiss if we didn't give a shout-out to the Pink Fireman Marshall Moneymaker of For 3 Sisters.

Congratulations to The Pink Event Founder Tamika Josephs-Smith! Supporter of the Year for Breast Cancer Organization
She is the inspiration behind The Pink Event and has made breast cancer awareness a cornerstone of the event's charitable efforts. So it comes as no surprise that Tamika Josephs-Smith was named Supporter of the Year for her work with breast cancer charity For 3 Sisters.
"It's an honor to be recognized by this selfless organization," Tamika says. "This group goes beyond education to personally helping women, and men, who are affected by breast cancer. That's why we have loved our partnership with For 3 Sisters."

When Local Football Players Touchdown on What's Right with America
Lately, football in the high schools and professional field has become so controversial. And we know everyone has varying opinions but I think we can all agree that these high school footballers are THE BEST!!
Members of Henry County's Union Grove High School football team paid tribute to the brace women at their school who have fought or are currently fighting breast cancer. According to FOX5DC, the Union Grove Wolverines in Georgia surprised teachers and staff members with pink roses.

Spread the Word on Breast Cancer Awareness Month
It's been a while since we checked in with our fantastic community. Rest assured, we are already hard at work on The Pink Event 2017. But this quick post isn't about that.
It's about ladies like Laura Snyder, who are excited to be alive another year after the harrowing experience of dealing with breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's a time when women need to take stock of their physical health (by doing self breast exams and getting mammograms). We also need to celebrate our survivors and those going through this disease.
Our efforts aren't in vain. And we, as an awesome community, can help make a difference.

The results are in and women were thrilled to be a part of The Pink Event® 2016.
We talked with several attendees to get their feedback:
"I found out about The Pink Event on Facebook and appreciate the charity awareness," said Erica Brooks from Glen Burnie. "I enjoyed the Speakers Lounge the most. I will recommend the event to my friends and family next year!
Baltimore native Simone Lipscomb, who was at the women-focused expo with her sister-in-law and mother-in-law (a cancer survivor) raved about the expo's speakers. "I enjoyed Cyndy Porter's speech and wish she had more time to talk! Kenya Ulmer's "I see dead people" talk was also a message I could relate to." The school teacher said she plans to bring a group of friends to the Pink Event next year.
"Cyndy Porter's presentation stood out the most to me," said Dominika Polynice of Owings Mills. "She delivered some concepts about fashion and proportions that I'd never considered before. She definitely gave information that I could start using immediately."

Did You Miss Our Pink Event 2016 Speakers? See How You Can Watch What Their Presentations!
If you didn't get a chance to see all of the fantastic speakers at The Pink Event® 2016 yesterday do no fret! We know that several had their presentations recorded by official videographer Gifted Films.
First up in our fabulous Speakers Lounge was Kenya Ulmer, the single mama with no drama. This enthusiastic life coach brought attendees to their feet and proclaiming affirmations for their success. "I see so much potential in here and I don't want it to go to waste," she told attendees.
Image consultant and award-winning photographer Cyndy Porter had a dramatic demonstration where she dissected the frustration have in their closets when they feel they have nothing to wear. "Women just haven't been educated to feel beautiful," she told the female crowd. "We hear things that keep us from feeling our best."
Rounding out the line-up, holistic nurse psychoterapist Cassandra Herbert broke down the diet myths and provided positive steps for a healthier lifestyle. "Food is medicine," she told the audience. "We also want to shift our mindset and be conscious of the words we speak involving food and life."

The event, put on by Her Mind magazine, is on June 13 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to Blossoms of Hope in support of the Claudia Mayer/Tina Broccolino Cancer Resource Center at Howard County General Hospital.

Learn More about Our Charity Partner For 3 Sisters, Inc.!
We've let you know about our charity partners at The Pink Event® 2016 (March 6, 2016 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum), but we'd like to explain a little more about these organizations and why the expo partners with them.
One group that has been not only a big supporter of The Pink Event but has done wonders in the breast cancer community is For 3 Sisters, Inc.
This nonprofit group, started by retired Montgomery County firefighter Marshall Moneymaker and his wife Shannon, is committed to raising awareness and improving the quality of life for men and women who are impacted by breast cancer.
The group's main programs include Road to Resources, Power of ONE, McKenzie's Corner, and the recently launched Men's Caregiver Support Group.
As part of The Pink Event's commitment to showcasing women-focused causes, the expo will donate 20% of ticket sales, 20% of ad sales, and 100% of net proceeds from our event charity raffles (and other select proceeds) to our charity partners. Meet Pink Event 2016 Speaker Cassandra Herbert!
Cassandra Herbert knows all too well what it means to be a real-life superwoman. That woman who seems like she can do everything--a career, marriage, children, community involvement, church, etc.--without breaking a sweat.
Even though it looks like she has it all together, doing and being everything for everyone, Cassandra says the superwoman isn't real.
"It's really a woman with a control facade because she looks like she has it all together but really she doesn't," says the holistic nurse therapist, wellness educator and health advocate.
In fact, Cassandra will dissect the superwoman syndrome when she speaks at The Pink Event® 2016 (March 6, 2016 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum). She'll draw upon her own experiences of living in the superwoman syndrome before breaking free.

Meet Pink Event 2016 Speaker Cyndy Porter!
Image consultant Cyndy Porter wants to teach you how to look amazing when you hear her speak at The Pink Event® 2016 (March 6, 2016 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum).
The professional photographer has a passion for helping women look beautiful. "When we feel we look our best, we have more self-confidence," says Cyndy who will present "Successful You: Techniques to an Intentional Image," at the ultimate women's day out.
Cyndy will share her personal story in the interactive talk and demonstrate how Pink Event attendees can create a personal brand, how to dress that brand, and how to use shapes, proportions, and colors to dress any body to look amazing.

Meet Pink Event 2016 Speaker Kenya S. Ulmer!
Life coach, author, speaker, and teacher Kenya S. Ulmer is a warrior against distraction.
The upcoming speaker at The Pink Event® 2016 (March 6, 2016 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum) saw a lot of distractions in her life that kept her from her purpose.
"It can be work, hobbies, a man, or just anything that keeps you away from why you're really here on earth," says the self-proclaimed single mama with no drama.
"What I'm about is getting people to that quiet place and finding out the assignment they have on earth," she says. While Kenya's strong Christian beliefs underlie her message, she stresses that it's a universal effort that any person can do to find true happiness.
