The Pink Event® 2016 Selects Charity Partners

Living up to its commitment to support women’s issue, Diamond Event Services, LLC, announced this week it will work with breast cancer charity For 3 Sisters, Inc., and domestic violence organization House of Ruth Maryland, Inc., as official charity partners for The Pink Event^® 2016.

 

Both charities will be present at the women-focused expo that will be held on March 6, 2016 at the BWI Airport Marriott in Linthicum. The nonprofits will benefit from 20 percent of ticket sales, net proceeds from the event’s charity raffles, and other select proceeds.

Enter fitness and nutrition coach, Vanessa Ballard (@VanessaLBallard). She is certified to give fantastic health tips, having completed courses for weight management consulting and personal training through the American Aerobic Association International and International Sports Medicine Association. 

Vanessa is one of our motivational and expert speakers who will give her insight at The Pink Event. We caught up with her to get a preview and discuss her involvement with the women-focused expo.

Woman Throws Good-Bye Boobs Party

This light-hearted effort in dealing with a heavy subject made us chuckle. A British radio and TV presenter, who faced a high likelihood of having breast cancer, did something a little different in preparation for a preventive double mastectomy surgery.

She  held a good-bye party for her breasts. According to The Huffington Post, the event wasn't a funeral but rather a celebration of her life and natural boobs. See the full story here.

Pink Spotlight: A Conversation with Pink Event® 2015 Speaker Mali Phonpadith

First on our list is Mali Phonpadith, who is the Founder of the S.O.A.R Community Network and Executive Producer and Host of "Tea with Mali" (it airs on Greenbelt Access Television).

Here's our Q&A with the always-smiling and inspiring Mali:

Question: What drew you to speaking at The Pink Event?

Answer: I met [Pink Event Founder] Tamika Josephs-Smith several months ago when my friend Maimah Karmo and I hosted an event for Mastin Kipp of the Daily Love. 

I immediately fell in love with Tamika's passion for community service and was impressed by her professionalism. When she reached out and told me about The Pink Event, I knew immediately that I wanted to support and take part somehow. 

Helping to inspire and develop visionaries and growing businesses are also part of my work through the S.O.A.R. Community Network and Tea with Mali TV. It was perfect synergy!
