Vanessa Elam to Teach Beauty Tips at The Pink Event® 2012

Lifestyle Coach and Image Consultant Vanessa Elam will lend her expertise to help women look 10 years younger in 10 minutes as part of mini-inspirational sessions at the upcoming 2012 Pink Event®.

“Women are surprised that there are lots of little things, from beauty regimen to attitude and gratitude adjustments, that can make them look years younger,” says Elam, who is the Owner of Olney, Md.-based, boutique image consultancy firm ImagiNess Style.

The self-described “ImagiNeesta” says she’ll cover quick tips that help women accentuate their outer features while also encouraging them to highlight their inner beauty. Elam’s panel at The Pink Event—a women-focused expo held March 3 at the Holiday Inn in Laurel, Md.—is part of a full line-up of local experts who will speak about ways to empower women.

“Many women I coach are fabulous on the outside but not the inside because they’re unhappy with lives, and that affects their entire image,” Elam says. “These same women show dramatic changes by being grateful for the things in their life, choosing a positive attitude, and beginning to live out their purpose. Change is tough but life-giving.”

The Pink Event Founder Tamika Josephs-Smith says Elam’s vibrant enthusiasm will help Expo attendees see a greater potential for their lives. “Vanessa’s session teaches that your imagination is what limits you or propels you forward in life,” Josephs-Smith says. “Hopefully, we’ll have some inside-and-out makeovers as a result.”

Elam, who also has served as the media spokeswoman for the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day and Palotta Teamworks, says she jumped at speaking at The Pink Event when she learned of the Expo’s pledge to  equally donate 65 percent of ticket sales to the Maryland Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and the House of Ruth Maryland.  “It is about the empowerment of women, and I’ve been privileged to work with both of these causes for many years,” she adds.
