Don’t expect a fire, but do expect to see “The Pink Fireman” at The Pink Event® next month. The women-focused expo—happening at DoubleTree by Hilton in Columbia, Md., on March 10—is pleased to announce that the head of For 3 Sisters will be on hand to encourage attendees to get checked for breast cancer.
Dubbed the “The Pink Fireman” for his signature pink gear, Bethesda firefighter Marshall Moneymaker will wear his uniform to honor three sisters whom he lost to breast cancer: Vicky, Valessa, and Penny.
“This will be a fabulous addition to the presence we’ll have at The Pink Event from our official charity partner, the Tigerlily Foundation,” says event founder Tamika Josephs-Smith. “Marshall’s organization has provided amazing support, respect and encouragement to people who are battling with this life-changing illness.”
The Pink Event 2013 will donate a portion of the event proceeds to Tigerlily Foundation as part of the expo’s mission to bring awareness to breast cancer and domestic violence. Tigerlily Founder Maimah Karmo also will speak at The Pink Event about her experience as a breast cancer survivor, and share her new book during an exclusive book signing.
In its third year, The Pink Event serves as the ultimate girls’ day out, featuring women-focused exhibitors that offer unique shopping, from customized boutique clothing and glamorous jewelry to natural hair products. The first 75 attendees receive a “swag bag” filled with gift certificates, coupons, and other goodies.
Several main sponsors and partners for The Pink Event include DoubleTree by Hilton, The Umbrella Syndicate, and Pixalated Photobooth. Attendees can get a sneak peek here or learn more at www.thepinkevent.net. Also, be sure to follow The Pink Event on Twitter (@ThePinkEvent) and Facebook.
